About the ACPRC

thumb_acprc-web The ASSOCIATION OF CHARTERED PHYSIOTHERAPISTS IN RESPIRATORY CARE is a national body of Physiotherapists interested in respiratory care, formed in November 1980, now with over 700 members. It is one of the larger clinical interest groups within the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.

Through our well-established national and international links with hospitals offering a respiratory physiotherapy service and links with other respiratory organisations (such as BTS, ERS, BLF,ICS,APCP) we facilitate the exchange of information, ideas and research findings to our members. Our intention is to promote clinical excellence within our field. We strive to ensure that post-registration education of a high standard is available to our members.

ACPRC Mission Statement

“The Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Respiratory Care promotes best practice in respiratory physiotherapy for the benefit of patients”.

Constitution

To provide and sustain an organisation to promote the exchange of ideas amongst those interested in respiratory physiotherapy and respiratory care.

To facilitate post-registration education and training in respiratory physiotherapy.

To encourage research and development in respiratory physiotherapy and related fields, and provide a forum for discussion of findings.

To develop and maintain links with other relevant organisations in the U.K. and overseas.

To represent respiratory physiotherapy within the CSP and other relevant organisations.

To promote respiratory physiotherapy to colleagues and clients throughout the U.K.

To communicate between members and other relevant agencies by regular publications.
