Launch of the NHS Companion Document - advance notice

The NHS Companion Document to the COPD & Asthma Strategy is due to be launched on Friday, 11 May 2012 provided that it passes the final stage of ministerial & NHS clearance.

The document gives 46 actions for the NHS, mapped across the five domains of the NHS Outcomes Framework, covering both COPD & Asthma. These actions bring together and draw on the Outcomes Strategy for COPD & Asthma, the NICE guidelines, the NICE Quality Standard for COPD and professional guidance.

The full Companion Document will contain details for each of the actions, with links to the appropriate evidence base. Published alongside it will also be a summary document and an Impact Report, detailing the financial case for change (showing how this helps meet QIPP objectives). We also hope to have a summary slide pack that you can tailor for your own use. These documents will be available for download from the DH website.
