Critical Care Champion
Paul Twose is a clinical specialist physiotherapist working within critical care at Cardiff and Vale UHB. He is also an honorary lecturer within the School of Healthcare Sciences at Cardiff University. He graduated in 2005 and completed his MSc in 2013.
Paul’s recent focus and research is on therapy workforce planning and the minimum standards of clinical practice required by physiotherapists. He is currently leading a UK wide project exploring therapy services to critical care with an aim of producing detailed guidance on recommended staffing, therapy roles and service modelling for all therapists, including specific recommendations for tertiary services.
Additionally, Paul is leading a project to develop an NHS Wales electronic platform for education, competency assessment, data capture and service development for all staff involved in the care of patients with tracheostomies.
