Paediatric Acute Respiratory Care CIG
This clinical interest group is affiliated with the ACPRC. Their members work across acute respiratory care in paediatrics, including but not exclusively paediatric intensive care.
Welcome to the Paediatric Acute Respiratory Care Clinical Interest Group (CIG)
The CIG was established in 2011 and has approximately 100 members. Our aim is to promote best practice and facilitate communication within our speciality, which provides treatment to paediatric patients primarily based on intensive care, high dependency or an acute ward.
Our objectives are as follows:
- To provide support and a forum to exchange ideas between paediatric physiotherapists working in acute respiratory care
- To promote and facilitate continuous professional development by running two study days (short courses) a year across different locations
- To encourage development in our field and share best practice by disseminating guidelines, research, standards
- To represent and promote acute respiratory care in paediatric physiotherapy
Through our affiliation with the ACPRC all short courses are free to members and through this dedicated page access to documents and resources are available.
The CIG is jointly chaired by Charlotte Hull and Nicki Barker, Highly Specialised Physiotherapists in PICU/NICU at Great Ormond Street Hospital, London. The CIG Secretary is Holly Moore, Paediatric Physiotherapy Team Lead at Wexham Park Hospital.
