Guidance for Lightning Talk Submission
Please read the following carefully before beginning the submission process.
A Lightning Talk is a short presentation on anything relevant to respiratory physiotherapy!
The scope is wider than an abstract and can include a clinical reflection, case study, new way of working, alternative technique, novel equipment, or innovation. Or it could be a research proposal or literature review, rather than a full research abstract. It could also be a research project, service evaluation or clinical audit.
This is your opportunity to present at the conference. Lightning Talks will take place within the main programme and your name will be included on the speakers list. We particularly encourage those who are new to presenting to submit a proposal, although we welcome all submissions!
General Information:
- The Lightning Talk submission platform will open on Tuesday 8th September.
- The Lightning Talk submission deadline is 23:59 on Friday 27th November 2026.
- All proposals must be submitted through the ACPRC Lightning Talk Submission platform.
- The template attached can be used to help develop your lightning talk before submitting.
- If you encounter issues accessing the submission platform link, please open using a different browser or contact conference@acprc.org.uk for more support.
- Lightning Talks will not be considered unless submitted using the correct format via the platform.
- Lightning Talks will be scored using a set criteria and selected by peer review for inclusion in the conference as a 5 minute presentation.
- The person submitting the lightening talk must ensure that they will be available to attend the conference and agree to present in person.
- You may submit a maximum of 3 proposals per person as presenting author.
PLEASE NOTE:
- All expenses associated with submission and presentation of the lightning talk, including conference registration fees, are the responsibility of the presenting author.
- By submitting this proposal, you give permission for a summary of this submission to be published on the ACPRC website, on the newsletter and in other relevant publications.
- If you have any queries or would like to discuss your idea further, please get in touch with our Research or Education Champion (research@acprc.org.uk; education@acprc.org.uk)
- If the outcome of your submission requires changes, additional information or is rejected following peer review, a new submission will be required via the submission platform. Comments/ feedback will be provided to support your resubmission. You will be able to download your original submission upon completion.
