Guidance for Members' Symposium Submission

Please read the following carefully before beginning the submission process.

A symposium is a focused session relating to a single topic area. This may include clinical practice, a patient population, research, or professional development. Symposia can take different formats, including case-based discussions, debates, interactive workshops, or short presentations, and should ideally include an interactive element.

This is your opportunity to present at the conference. Member Symposia will take place within the main programme and your name will be included on the speakers list. We particularly encourage those who are new to presenting to submit a proposal, although we welcome all submissions!

General Information:

  • The Member Symposia submission platform will open on Monday 7th September.
  • The Member Symposia submission deadline is Friday 27th November 2026.
  • All proposals must be submitted through the ACPRC Member Symposia Submission platform (Link available September 2026). The template attached can be used to help develop your Member Symposia before submitting.
  • Member Symposia will not be considered unless submitted using the correct format via the platform.
  •  Member Symposia will be selected by peer review for inclusion in the conference.
  • The Chair and speakers (up to two speakers plus chair) of successful symposia will each receive a free conference place.
  • The ACPRC is committed to supporting the professional development of underrepresented and historically marginalised groups, including Black, Asian and minority ethnic members, LGBTQ+ members, members with disabilities, students, and those working in resource-limited settings across the UK. We also welcome submissions from people at all stages of their careers.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • All expenses associated with submission and presentation of the Member Symposia, including conference registration fees, are the responsibility of the presenter.
  • By submitting this proposal, you agree to present your Member Symposia by either oral or poster presentation if selected.
  • By submitting this proposal, you give permission for a summary of this submission to be published on the ACPRC website, on the newsletter and in other relevant publications.
  • If you have any queries or would like to discuss your idea further, please get in touch with our Education Champion (education@acprc.org.uk)
